Like so many modern love stories, ours began with a swipe during the most unexpected of times. In the midst of COVID-19, when the world felt uncertain and distant, we matched on a few dating apps and decided to take a chance on each other.
Our first date was September 27, 2020, at Zocalo in Midtown Sacramento. Over Mexican-inspired dishes and conversation that flowed easily, we discovered an instant connection that made us want to see each other again—and soon. Just two days later, on September 29, we met for our second date at Aioli Bodega Espanola. It was clear from those early days that we'd found something special.
From summer music festivals and national park adventures to exploring the world together—from the Louvre in Paris to glaciers in New Zealand, from sunset cruises in Mexico to horseback riding (even in freezing rain!)—we've built a life full of laughter, spontaneity, and shared memories. But our travels all started with a weekend trip to Yosemite National Park on May 30, 2021, and we are excited to have you all join us in Yosemite five years later for our wedding!
In April 2023, we took the next step and moved in together, turning our adventures into everyday moments of home.
A year later, in April 2024, our little family grew when we rescued Ember—a sweet pup who's half Australian Cattle Dog, half German Shepherd. She had been abandoned on the street shortly after getting pregnant, but we gave her the loving home she deserved. Ember quickly became our loyal companion and the heart of our home.
And on May 23, 2025, we came full circle. Anthony proposed at the California State Capitol Rose Garden—the very spot where we shared our first kiss. Surrounded by blooming roses and bathed in golden hour light, it was the perfect moment. We celebrated with dinner at Zocalo, where it all began, and ended the night at a candlelight concert at the Railroad Museum.
From a pandemic match to a lifetime commitment, our story is proof that love finds a way—even in the most uncertain times.
